As an affiliate of Keep America Beautiful, Keep Alachua County Beautiful believes that each of us holds an obligation to preserve and protect our environment. Through our everyday choices and actions, we collectively have a huge impact on our world. It's really a simple concept, but one with far reaching effects. Our mission is to beautify, conserve resources, recycle, educate and preserve our community's environmental legacy. This year, as Keep Alachua County Beautiful celebrates its 17th Anniversary, Keep America Beautiful celebrates its 59th Birthday. What started with a message and a post office box in New York City in 1953 has blossomed into an international movement with over 1,200 affiliates.
