Our Mission

Our mission is to beautify, conserve resources, recycle, educate and preserve our community's environmental legacy.

As an affiliate of Keep America Beautiful, Keep Alachua County Beautiful believes that each of us holds an obligation to preserve and protect our environment. Through our everyday choices and actions, we collectively have a significant impact on our world. We are proud to be affiliated with Keep America Beautiful’s network of more than 600 state and community-based affiliates. Together we cause meaningful, positive and lasting change by delivering innovative, locally-focused programs that address our community’s needs.

Keep America Beautiful has recognized the efforts of our staff and wonderful volunteers.  In 2018 we received the President's Circle Recognition Award, distinguishing us as one of the top affiliates in the nation.

This year, as Keep Alachua County Beautiful celebrates its 30th Anniversary as well as its 28\9th year participating in the Great American Cleanup, Keep America Beautiful celebrates its 67th Birthday. What started with a message and a post office box in New York City in 1953 has blossomed into an international movement with over 1,200 affiliates.

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, Keep America Beautiful follows a practical approach that unites citizens, businesses and the government to find solutions that advance our core issues of preventing litter, reducing waste, and beautifying communities.
