The Great American Cleanup continues with daily cleanup and beautification activities. We are especially in need of volunteers to pickup litter.

Keep Alachua County Beautiful: 1001 NW 5th Ave, Gainesville, FL 32601 is open Mondays and Thursdays, from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m., and by appointment if those hours don't work for you.

 

Supplies for litter pickup, planting, and painting projects are available at no cost. Grabber sticks, gloves, safety vests, hand sanitizer, masks, trash bags, and first-aid kits are included. ​​​​​

Keep Alachua County Beautiful is excited to announce the return of our Tire Roundup with an additional Bulk Waste Collection this fall!

 

Join us for a convenient Drive-Through Tire Roundup and Bulk Waste Disposal Event, giving High Springs residents the opportunity to dispose of unwanted tires and large bulk items free of charge.

 

Proper disposal helps keep our communities clean and protects the environment. Unwanted tires and bulk waste can become illegal dumping sites or collect water, creating mosquito-breeding habitats. Improperly stored or discarded materials can also contribute to pollution and toxins leaching into the soil.

 

This event is a win for both our community and our planet!

Residents can drive through and drop off rimless tires from conventional road vehicles, such as cars and trucks, as well as separate bulk waste items during the event.

 

Tire & Bulk Waste Rules and Guidelines:

• Up to 8 tires per person

• Tires must be removed from rims

• Commercial vehicle tires will not be accepted

• Tires from businesses will not be accepted

• No construction or demolition debris will be accepted, including but not limited to:

  • Concrete

  • Brick

  • Wood or lumber

  • Metals

  • Drywall or plaster

  • Roofing materials

  • Finishing elements
